Letters: Personal info grab
Re “Personal info grab gets out of hand,” Column, Jan. 31
Just after reading David Lazarus’ column on data collection by businesses, I registered a $15 holiday gift card for Starbucks. To redeem for a few cups of coffee, I was required to join the rewards program, with the usual extensive data-gathering included. Ten minutes later, I finally made my card usable.
Will this ever end? I have considered creating an alter ego with totally false information.
