From Hollywood to the White House, Trump will get his Walk of Fame star repaired
Although Donald Trump hardly seemed to be the preferred candidate of the American entertainment industry, there’s one thing Hollywood is doing to help the president-elect. Officials said Wednesday that they plan to unveil Trump’s fully repaired Hollywood Walk of Fame star as soon possible now that he’s headed to the White House.
The star was vandalized on Oct. 26 by a protester who took a sledgehammer to it, damaging the concrete and removing the name plate. A suspect, James Otis, was arrested and charged with felony vandalism. Police estimated the damage to be around $2,500. The star, which Trump received in 2007 for starring on the hit NBC reality show “The Apprentice,” can be found on Hollywood Boulevard near the busy Hollywood and Highland shopping complex.
It’s currently blocked off and covered pending repairs, but that didn’t stop a handful of Trump supporters convening on the site Tuesday night to celebrate the win.
According to the Associated Press, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Vivian Kish says the star has been mostly fixed but still needs to finish drying before it can be polished, a process that will take about two weeks.
