KCET fund-raiser at Landmark Theatre
Public television station KCET is once again raising money by going to the movies.
Its annual Westside Cinema Series, featuring screenings of new films and interviews with the filmmakers, kicks off at 7 p.m. Wednesday with “December Boys,” starring Daniel Radcliffe (better known as the star of the “Harry Potter” films). Seven more films will follow at weekly intervals, including “Into the Wild” on Sept. 19 and “Feast of Love” on Sept. 26.
The Q&A; sessions will be moderated by Pete Hammond, film critic for Maxim magazine.
Tickets to the series are $150, with proceeds going to support KCET. Screenings are at the Landmark Theatre, 10850 W. Pico Blvd., West Los Angeles. Information: (323) 953-5801.
