Big 12 fines Leach $10,000

Texas Tech Coach Mike Leach was fined $10,000 by the Big 12 Conference on Tuesday for his harsh criticism of game officials after last week’s loss to Texas.

Wyoming Coach Joe Glenn apologized for an obscene gesture he made toward the Utah sideline during Saturday game. . . . Washington quarterback Jake Locker, recovering from a neck injury, did not practice. . . . Oregon State Athletic Director Bob De Carolis called for the on-field officials in the Beavers’ on Saturday game with Washington to be disciplined, and for the replay officials to face a stiffer sanction. . . . Nate Davis passed for three touchdowns and ran for two more as Ball State, 6-5 overall, 4-2 Mid-American Conference, defeated Toledo, 41-20, at Muncie, Ind. The Rockets are 5-6, 3-4.
