L.A. production bound for N.Y.
The Fountain Theatre’s critically acclaimed production of Athol Fugard’s “Exits and Entrances,” which had its world premiere at the Hollywood-based theater in 2004, will open off-Broadway on March 28 at Primary Stages’ 59E59 Theaters.
Morlan Higgins and William Dennis Hurley will reprise the roles they originated in Fugard’s autobiographical chronicle of a friendship between a young playwright and an older actor. Fountain co-founder Stephen Sachs will again direct.
The New York premiere of the Fugard play replaces “Deuce,” by Terrence McNally, originally scheduled to open at Primary Stages in March. A world-premiere play starring Angela Lansbury and Marian Seldes, “Deuce” will instead open on Broadway in May.
