Daucher widens lead; 28,000 votes to count

Republican Lynn Daucher widened her lead over Democrat Lou Correa for the second day in the ongoing tally of absentee and provisional ballots in the 34th state Senate district race.
After 3,281 votes were counted Thursday, Daucher increased her lead over Correa to 553 votes. On election night, Daucher led by just 13 votes, but that grew to 138 votes by Wednesday evening.
An estimated 28,000 ballots remain to be counted.
