Restraining order in case of box-office trackers
Exhibitor Relations Inc., a provider of Hollywood box-office data, said it had won a court order preventing the company’s former president and his new business from using Exhibitor Relations’ information.
A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge issued the restraining order against Paul Dergarabedian and his company, Media by Numbers, Exhibitor Relations said.
Dergarabedian said Dec. 1 that he was starting a box-office tracking firm after 14 years with Exhibitor Relations. His former employer sued him for misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition.
Dergarabedian had already conceded the issues that Exhibitor Relations said it prevailed on, his attorney said, adding that “the court allowed him to run his business and to solicit new clients.”
