OH, YES! SANDRA OH IN THE SPOTLIGHT
OH, YES! SANDRA OH IN THE SPOTLIGHT. The actress -- who was largely, and some might say unforgivably, overlooked for her helmet-wielding performance in the indie hit film “Sideways” -- earned an Emmy nod for her role as a doctor-in-training in “Grey’s Anatomy.” Other critical favorites who were nominated: CCH Pounder, the veteran character actress who plays a morally upright detective on “The Shield,” and Blythe Danner as the sharp-tongued mom on “Huff.” Alan Alda’s nomination (“The West Wing”) is a trifecta of sorts -- he recently earned an Oscar nomination for “The Aviator” and a Tony nomination for “Glengarry Glen Ross.”
