Museum chief: The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has named its first woman president, promoting Emily Kernan Rafferty from her post as senior vice president for external affairs. Rafferty, 55, will succeed David McKinney, who is to retire in January.
Book award: Judy Blume, author of such candid children’s books as “Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing” and “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret,” has been named this year’s winner of an honorary National Book Award for contributions to American letters.
Dukes are back: Seann William Scott, Johnny Knoxville and Jessica Simpson will star as, respectively, Bo, Luke and Daisy in a film version of the 1980s TV series “The Dukes of Hazzard.”
