Young ‘Lizzie’ Star Is a Moneymaker for Disney
Rick Rofman has no sympathy for Hilary Duff because the teenager rejects a salary of $15,000 a week from Walt Disney Co. (“No Sympathy for Young ‘Lizzie’ Star,” Letters, June 8).
Mr. Rofman states that when he was a teenager working for the local library he was paid $1.11 per hour and was very happy. While I agree Ms. Duff does not deserve our sympathy, I do not cast Ms. Duff as the evil witch.
What Mr. Rofman may be overlooking is that Disney, unlike his local library, has made and will make a lot of money because of Ms. Duff.
Yes, $15,000 a week is a lot of money, but one should compare it with what Disney is making as a result of Ms. Duff’s talent. Thomas Edward Wall
