Hackman to receive Globe’s DeMille Award
Veteran actor Gene Hackman was named Thursday to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award at next year’s Golden Globe Awards, honoring his “outstanding contribution to the entertainment field.”
Hackman will be honored by the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. at its 60th annual awards show, scheduled Jan. 19 at the Beverly Hilton.
It won’t be his first appearance at the event. Hackman has received three Golden Globes: for “The French Connection,” “Unforgiven” and “The Royal Tenenbaums.”
Harrison Ford received the award at this year’s event.
