Conexant Systems Inc. said its sales outlook has improved in the current quarter.
The Newport Beach maker of communications chips said sales for its fiscal first quarter ending Dec. 28 should increase 5% to 7% from the $201 million reported in the fourth quarter. That’s a steeper increase than the “modest growth” forecast last month, the company said.
Revenue from wireless products will rise 25% from the fourth quarter, which was up 24% from the previous quarter, Conexant said.
The company’s shares rose 41cents to $15.48 on Nasdaq.
