Draw the Arts to L.A., Not the NFL
I agree with eight of the nine [recommended] points for the new Los Angeles mayor (“Mending the Cracks in Los Angeles,” by Bill Boyarsky, June 3). The ninth--bringing a National Football League team to L.A.--is not needed to “bring L.A. together.” The millions that would be required to secure a team, stadium and parking structure could be used to build the arts in Los Angeles--which would do far more good in bringing the city, county and state together. If the first eight points were accomplished and successful, then by all means move to the ninth. Until then, let Al Davis pout in Oakland.
