Pacific Theaters Plans New Megaplexes: As part of a $100-million expansion, the theater chain said it will open three new 26-screen, 5,500-seat megaplexes. One will be at Prairie Avenue and Winnetka Avenue in Chatsworth, another at the current site of the Anaheim Drive-In and a third at the Woodward Park Drive-In in Fresno. “We feel that the megaplex, walk-in theaters are our future,” said Jay Swerdlow, executive vice president and general manager of Pacific, which currently operates 350 screens in California and Hawaii.
