THE ACTOR’S ART
I appreciated your article on the very underappreciated talents of actor Scott Wilson (“Actor Anonymous,” by Glenn Lovell, March 17).
I was saddened, however, to hear that he feels his career has been unsuccessful. While this may be the case financially, this is certainly not the case artistically.
The dignity and soul which he has always brought to even the smallest of roles has been a joy to behold over the years. This is no small achievement in a business filled with the allure of easy money from straight-to-video thrillers or junk-food TV.
While the words “art” and “integrity” are always overused during this awards show-saturated time of year, these words have always applied to Scott Wilson’s work. I’m sure they will continue to do so for many years to come.
