LANGUAGE BARRIER
Of the 67 films in Calendar’s Now Playing listings (Feb. 5), 32 bear a warning about “strong language.”
Yes, I know, I’m a prude, a bluenose, an old fuddy-duddy pitifully out of step with the times, but am I really alone in wondering how this epidemic of putrid language came to be the norm? And wondering too if it has any social, cultural or humanistic value. Perhaps it does. If so, I need to be enlightened.
