Citing Cost, Coastline Drops Dramatic Program
COSTA MESA — Coastline Community College has canceled a 10-year-old program of dramatic productions because of a lack of funds, Edward Decker, dean of visual and performing arts, announced Wednesday.
Decker estimated the annual cost of the program at $20,000.
Bob Conrad, who has directed the shows as part of an adult education course, said an evening of one-act versions of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” scheduled for May at the Ethel Dwyer Middle School in Huntington Beach will not be affected by the cancellation of the program.
