Kent Takes Two: Former NBC News “Scud Stud” Arthur Kent was a double winner at the Houston Worldfest film festival, where his 16-minute theatrical documentary “A View of Bosnia” won top honors and the award for best documentary cinematography. Kent’s documentary competed in a field of 200 features, commercials and documentaries. Kent shot the $110,000 film on two trips to Bosnia, paid for in large part by his assignments with BBC and other international news agencies in the war zone. He also contributed about $30,000 of his own funds to the project. Meanwhile, Kent continues to pursue his $25-million suit against NBC claiming fraud, defamation of character and breach of contract. Kent was dropped by NBC a year ago amid hints from the company that he had refused assignments in the Yugoslav war. Kent has contended he was amid a contract dispute over his assignments for “Dateline NBC” instead.
