In response to “Riots Spur Questions for Family Therapists” (Oct. 20):
I was glad to see that, after the L.A. riots, therapists are questioning how much they know about issues of cultural diversity facing their profession today.
This is an excellent story that shows how college graduates and highly educated people like therapists are still uninformed about other cultures.
They didn’t realize that other problems existed because they have only worked with white people and “white problems” in the past.
I’m glad that therapists see the need to educate themselves.
