Veteran TV executive Alan Perris has been named senior vice president of first-run programming for Columbia Pictures TV Distribution, Los Angeles. Perris, 48, had been president of Cincinnati-based Scripps-Howard Productions.
In his new position, Perris will be responsible for developing new TV shows for the syndication and cable markets, an area where Columbia traditionally has been weak. He will relocate to the studio’s Culver City offices from Ohio.
