On American Indians: Turner Broadcasting System Chairman Ted Turner has zeroed in on the American Indian for an ambitious personal project encompassing four of his company divisions. Turner outlined his plans for the fall of 1993 this week to reporters at the annual TV press tour in Century City. They include a six-hour TBS documentary written by Pulitzer Prize-winning Indian author Scott Momaday; seven TNT original historical dramas, starting with “Broken Chain,” about two Indian brothers; a 20-part CNN series of special reports on Indian issues, and a book from Turner Publishing called “The Story of the Native People of America.”
