New Schedule for Southland Arts Events
A number of Southland art venues have rescheduled events canceled during the recent rioting.
Among them:
* The Southland premiere of Bill Viola’s new video work, “The Passing,” will be Tuesdayat the Museum of Contemporary Art, with screenings at 6, 7:30 and 10 p.m. The event is free, but reservations are required: (213) 626-6828. All reservations that had been made for the canceled Thursday screenings will be honored at the corresponding screenings on Tuesday.
* The free preview reception for “L.A. Art Night for Life,” an art event benefiting AIDS Project Los Angeles, has been rescheduled for Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at several galleries in Santa Monica’s Broadway Gallery Complex. Information: (310) 452-4210.

* “Energy: Interaction of Contrast” at L.A. Artcore, (213) 617-3274, on May 24.
* Hank Pitcher at Tatistcheff, (310) 395-8807, on June 6.
The location for today’s commencement exercises at Otis/Parsons Art Institute has been changed. The 5 p.m. event will now be at Otis on the campus lawn. Information: (213) 258-5623.
