TELEVISION - April 7, 1992
Buyer Wanted: The Christian Science Church will shut down its Monitor cable channelunless a buyer is found by April 15. The deadline had been June 15. Announcement of the new date follows reports that the church is facing financial difficulties exacerbated by the $250-million launch of the Monitor Channel last May. The roughly $4-million monthly operating costs for the 24-hour news and information channel and the lack of serious interest in the property prompted the church’s board to advance the deadline by two months.
