Stone’s Throw: Oliver Stone went before the National Press Club in Washington Wednesday to defend his film “JFK” and to urge Rep. Louis Stokes (D-Ohio) to seek the opening of sealed files regarding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Stone cited a lengthy list of inconsistencies that he contends cast doubt on the findings of the Warren Commission. “My goal is to open a stall in that marketplace of ideas,” Stone said, “and to offer another possible version of events.” The ballroom of Washington’s National Press Building went dark as Stone was defending his film’s conspiracy theories, leading him to quip: “They (the conspirators) may also have something to do with the lights going out.”
