Trying to Restrain ‘Kuffs’: Dallas city officials have sued to prohibit children younger than 17 from seeing the movie “Kuffs,” starring Christian Slater. The PG-13 rated film, which will open there and in other cities, including Los Angeles, on Friday, is being contested in U.S. District Court. The officials say the film is too violent for children unaccompanied by an adult to see. Universal Pictures, the film’s distributor, argued that the city’s motion-picture ordinance, which brought the suit, is unconstitutional. The studio said it plans to show the film without any additional warning.
