CNN Plans to Carry Speech Live at 9 a.m.

Only CNN plans to televise Soviet President Mikhail S. Gorbachev’s speech live and in its entirety today.
The speech, in which Gorbachev is expected to resign, is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. PST.
Spokesmen for ABC, NBC and CBS said Tuesday that the networks will interrupt regular programming for special news coverage only as events warrant but plan extensive coverage on their nightly news programs.
