Chita in Westwood: Tony Award-winning performer Chita Rivera has been booked for a rare stage appearance in Los Angeles, set for 16 performances at the Westwood Playhouse Nov. 20-Dec. 1. The 16 performances will be preceded by a single preview on Nov. 19. Joined by two dancers and an 11-piece band, Rivera will perform songs she introduced in such Broadway shows as “West Side Story,” “Bye Bye Birdie” and “Chicago,” as well as numbers from “Sweet Charity,” “Can-Can,” “The Act” and “Hello, Dolly!” The show is directed and choreographed by Wayne Cilento with special material by Fred Ebb and John Kander.
