The “Color it Green” art auction Friday night at the Laguna Hotel grossed $16,000 to benefit the Natural Resources Defense Council’s effort to conserve Laguna Canyon. The net figure is not yet available. Although auctioner Fred Page of Los Angeles donated his services, auction costs include a 30% share of sales to the artists--an unusual stipulation which recognizes the artist’s role in making such benefits possible.
