Presidential Honors: Violinist Isaac Stern, country singer Roy Acuff, actress Kitty Carlisle Hart and tap dancer Charles “Honi” Coles are among the dozen National Medal of Arts recipients to be honored by President Bush and his wife Barbara at a White House luncheon today. Texaco Inc. will be awarded for its sponsorship of live weekly radio broadcasts of the Metropolitan Opera of New York. The medals have been presented annually since 1985 to artists, art administrators and patrons for their contributions to the cultural life of the nation.
