To Conduct Again: Maxim Shostakovich, who quit as music director of the New Orleans Symphony in April because he hadn’t been paid the entire season, will be back in the fall to conduct four performances. No figure was mentioned in the announcement, except to say Shostakovich, son of the late Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich, had been paid. Reports at the time of his resignation indicated Shostakovich was owed $100,000.
