Michael Kalil; Helped Design NASA’s Space Modules
Michael Kalil, 47, interior designer who helped the National Aeronautics and Space Administration develop space modules. Known for his abstract designs, Kalil exhibited his work in such galleries as the Museum of Contemporary Crafts, the Ft. Worth Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum. Kalil was trained at Pratt Institute and began his career with an architectural firm. He had worked with NASA since 1983. On Tuesday in Manhattan of pulmonary complications related to cancer.
