On Dangerous Ground (AMC Monday at 12:30 a.m.). An unjustly forgotten 1951 Nicholas Ray film noir starring Robert Ryan as an embittered big-city police detective who crosses paths with a trusting blind woman (Ida Lupino) living in the wilderness. It boasts Bernard Herrmann’s favorite score.
Once Upon a Time in the West (TMC Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., again Wednesday at 3 a.m.). Until you have the opportunity to tape the uncut five-hour version, the shortened 1969 version of Sergio Leone’s triumphantly bravura shoot-’em-up will have to serve.
Judge Priest (Channel 56 Saturday at 4 p.m.). An important but largely unfamiliar 1934 John Ford film in which Will Rogers stars as an independent-minded small-town judge.
Now, Voyager (Channel 13 Saturday at 8 p.m.). This high-grade 1942 soap opera finds Bette Davis playing a repressed Boston spinster rescued by Paul Henreid, who figures in the film’s famous cigarette-lighting scene. Directed by Irving Rapper.
