NAMES IN THE NEWS : Gala to Open Garson Center
SANTE FE, N.M. — A gala tribute to Greer Garson will be held at New Mexico’s College of Santa Fe Oct. 20 for the opening of the Greer Garson Communications Center and Studios.
The English-born Academy Award winner, who makes her home in Santa Fe, made the project possible by her financial gift to the college more than a year ago.
The communications center and studios are the latest in a list of contributions to the college by Garson and her late husband, E. E. (Buddy) Fogelson. The Garson Studios provides 22,000 square feet of filming space, the largest such film-TV studio facility in New Mexico.
