Loss Eliminates O.C. at Connie Mack

The Orange County Cardinals were eliminated from the Connie Mack World Series Wednesday by losing to Cincinnati, 6-3, in Farmington, N.M.
The Cardinals, who finished third in the series and have an overall record of 31-7, scored twice in the first, but Cincinnati tied it in the bottom of the inning and scored three more runs in the second. Cincinnati added another run in the fourth.
Troy Babbitt, a senior at Western High School last season, hit a solo home run in the seventh to give him five for the series, a tournament record. Babbitt was 9 for 14 in the series.
Cincinnati plays Dallas tonight in the championship game.
