Salaries Paid to Executives at Performing Arts Center
The combined compensation package of over $300,000 paid to (Orange County Performing Arts Center executives) Thomas Kendrick and Judith Morr reported by The Times was an excellent public service and deserves praise for its disclosure (“Pay Packages for O.C. Arts Center Administrators Among Highest in U.S.,” July 25).
This nauseating information reinforces the perception of the Performing Arts Center as a plaything for the rich. What is further galling is the attitude displayed by these transplanted Easterners, as though they are doing the yahoos of Orange County a big favor by even being here.
I hope ticket sales drop off and the public shows its displeasure with the Center administration for this gross misdirection of priorities.
I wondered why I disliked attending functions at the Center--this puts everything into perspective.
