Pianist in ‘Thank You’ Series to Give Free Concert
Pianist William Wolfram, a bronze medal-winner at the 1986 Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow, will give a free concert Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Huntington Beach Public Library.
Wolfram will be in Orange County for a two-week residency at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa, the third of four artists in a “Thank You Orange County Celebration Series” being offered by the Center as a replacement for a first anniversary concert canceled after headliner Bernadette Peters bowed out to accept a role on Broadway.
Wolfram will appear at various sites throughout the county during those two weeks, but the Monday performance will be the only one open to the public. The rest will be “Informances” (informal concerts combined with discussions) at schools, hospitals and various private social functions.
The final artist in the “Thank You” series, dancer-choreographer Tandy Beal, will be in residence April 11 to 22.
