“Empire of the Sun” cinematographer Allen Daviau received top honors for best motion picture work Sunday at the American Society of Cinematographers’ awards dinner. Honored for lifetime achievement was George Folsey, who worked on such films as “Adam’s Rib,” “Green Dolphin Street” and “Forbidden Planet,” and who has received 13 Oscar nominations in his 50-year career. He was director of photography on more than 150 films. Winners in television: Philip Lathrop for “Christmas Snow” and Woody Omens for the pilot of “Heart of the City.” The second-annual awards were handed out during a ceremony and dinner at Universal Studios.
