A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ordered Hemdale Film Corp. to place proceeds from its film “Platoon” into an account it must share with producer Arnold Kopelson. The injunction handed down by Judge Philip Saeta, is designed to give Kopelson access to Hemdale’s “Platoon” revenues. The decision may make it easier for a pair of Kopelson firms to collect as much as $25 million in overdue payments. But attorneys for Hemdale told Daily Variety they didn’t consider Saeta’s injunction a defeat, saying the issue is not the firm’s willingness to pay, but whether the timing of the payments hurts Hemdale.
