Conductor John Williams, recovering at his Los Angeles home from an intestinal infection, will miss the rest of the Boston Pops national tour, a Pops spokeswoman said Tuesday. Williams, who spent a few days earlier this month at a hospital in the Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts, had been scheduled to rejoin the tour last weekend but was ordered by his doctor to rest. John Mauceri, who conducted the Pops touring contingent--the Esplanade Orchestra--in its Hollywood Bowl appearance July 17, will lead the ensemble for the remainder of the tour, which concludes Saturday.
