Vincent Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers,” purchased by Yasuda Fire & Marine Insurance Co. of Tokyo for $36.6 million at a London auction last March, arrived in Japan on Monday, the company said. The masterpiece, carried in a special container, was accompanied by three company employees on a flight from London to Tokyo aboard a jumbo air freighter, the firm said. The painting was immediately transported to a warehouse in downtown Tokyo aboard a special truck escorted by armed guards. Yasuda plans to display the painting throughout the country.
