The Pentagon said it will investigate Vietnam War deserter Douglas Beane’s assertion that during his 17 years on the run he may have met American servicemen listed as missing in action. The Defense Intelligence Agency will fly Beane from his home in West Rutland, Vt., to Washington so he can review records and photographs of the 2,416 military personnel listed as MIAs in Indochina.
