A woman allegedly chased and injured by Burt Reynolds’ angry goose says a hostile public and an attorney’s anti-Semitism lost her her $250,000 lawsuit filed against the actor. An attorney for Selma and Mac Binderman asked a West Palm Beach, Fla., judge for a retrial Wednesday, saying that Reynolds’ attorney, Alan Espy, intentionally mispronounced their name and referred often to the fact that they are Jewish. Selma Binderman claimed in her original suit that Reynolds’ goose charged her and caused her to fall backward over a pipe during a 1984 visit to his ranch. A jury in January found no negligence on Reynolds’ part.
