Magazine Named to Sponsor Builders’ Award Competition
Sun/Coast Architect/Builder magazine has been appointed official sponsoring magazine for the Pacific Coast Builders’ Conference for the 1986 Gold Nugget Awards, emblematic of excellence in architectural design and land use planning.
The awards, open to architects, builders and land planners from 14 western states, will be presented during the 28th annual conference June 18-21 in San Francisco’s Moscone Convention Center.
Entry application are available from the magazine’s editor, Thelma Imschweiler, at the publication’s offices at 410 W. Arden Ave., Suite 203, Glendale, 91203-1194. Winners will be featured in a 16-page section of the magazine’s July issue, according to James L. McKellar, publisher.
Theme of this year’s conference is “Dreams Become Reality,” Jim Beam, PCBC president, said. A “conference within a conference” will be a highlight of the meeting, he added, with 14 presidents of statewide building industry associations and other building authorities discussing land-use problems in the West.
The conference is the nation’s largest regional builders convention. More than 3,000 are expected to attend.
