PETTIT RETURNING TO NBC NEWS BEAT
Tom Pettit, a former NBC News correspondent who became executive vice president of the network’s news division in March, 1982, is leaving that post at his own request to return to news reporting, an NBC spokesman said Monday.
Pettit now will be NBC’s chief national affairs correspondent, based in New York. A three-time Emmy Award winner who joined NBC in 1962, Pettit was a Washington-based correspondent for NBC News before becoming its No. 2 executive.
