FILM PICKINGS
In her review of “Garbo Talks” in October, Sheila Benson said: “ ‘Garbo Talks’ is so thoroughly and entirely satisfying, it’s almost sinful . . . a novella of a movie . . .”; ‘Garbo Talks’ is a pearl taken from a grain of sand . . . the best kind of comedy--the kind that proceeds from character . . .”--and more.
Yet in Benson’s “10 Best Film Picks--and Then Some” (Dec. 30), on her favorite films of ’84 she lists no fewer than 26 movies--and not a word about “Garbo Talks.”
I don’t get it. Moreover, I’d be reluctant to have Benson say she loved me.
