Temecula: A villa, wine-tastings and breakfast for $199
Picture yourself sampling wine or just unwinding at the South Coast Winery Resort & Spa -- for about $200 a night. Travelzoo has pieced together a Southern California getaway that includes staying in one of the 76 villas at the resort and more activities than you can do in a day.
The deal: This offer from Travelzoo comes with some sweet extras: overnight in a private villa with fireplace and jet-water tub, upgrade to a view room, mimosa breakfast, a wine-and-cheese pairing, a bottle of wine, vouchers for six wine-tastings and a $20 credit at the resort’s Grapeseed Spa. As always, remember to reserve with the hotel directly after you buy the Travelzoo deal because availability for the date you want may sell out.
When: The travel voucher offer is good through 11:59 p.m. PST Dec. 10. You can use the Travelzoo coupon Sundays-Fridays through April 30, though some blackout dates apply.
Tested: Travelzoo pegs the regular cost of this package at $459 plus tax. I went to the hotel’s website and checked regular rates for a random date (March 9) and found villa rooms starting at $279 a night. So the savings are considerable just on the room rate alone. It’s a good price for a wine getaway that’s close to home -- and who won’t appreciate that after the holidays?
