Cycle, eat and cook on bicycle tours of Italy with ‘Top Chef’ contestants
If your love for cycling is exceeded only by your love for good cuisine, now you can have both. An Italian biking vacation co-hosted by American chefs and food critics is offered by Tourissimo.
Weeklong tours include contestants and winners of the “Top Chef” culinary competition TV show and are tailored to meet the needs of cyclists of all abilities.
A June 4 tour visits production areas of some of Italy’s best-known foods, including tortellini, prosciutto di Parma, balsamic vinegar, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. The itinerary starts at the castle of Tabiano Terme and continues onto the Po River plain, the village of Porretta Terme and Bologna.
On a June 12 tour, participants will depart from Ferrara, visit the Po River Delta, Ravenna and Rimini, a resort town on the Adriatic Sea.
Dates: June 4-10, 12-18
Price: From $3,995 per person, double occupancy; $300 single supplement. Includes accommodations, meals, guides, activities, guest chef, carbon road bikes with GPS navigation and all tour transfers. E-bikes are available at an additional cost. International airfare and gratuities not included.
