Lonely Planet reveals top 10 U.S. travel spots
You’ll find picturesque area full of towering redwood trees four hours north of San Francisco. The Redwood Coast spans 175 miles of coastline and is home to forests of giant trees. The scenery might look familiar; it’s been showcased in film franchises such as “Star Wars” and “Jurassic Park.” Also, Redwood National Park turns 50 this year. Check out Humboldt County’s quirky shops, oysters and brewpubs.

The folks at Lonely Planet are out with their annual list of the top places to travel in the U.S. The roster, now in its eighth year, includes compelling destinations from coast-to-coast, from space-related attractions in Florida to California’s Redwood Coast.
