Donald Trump, shown in June, told the L.A. Times on Thursday that he was negotiating to buy Ed McMahon‘s Beverly Hills home to allow McMahon to remain in the house as a renter. “I don’t know the man, but I grew up watching him on TV,” Trump said. (Stephen Lovekin / Getty Images)
Donald Trump’s proposed rescue of Ed McMahon’s home from foreclosure is not Trump’s biggest real estate deal this summer -- not even close. In July he announced he was selling his Palm Beach, Fla., mansion to a Russian billionaire for $100 million. Russian fertilizer billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev purchased the roughly 60,000-square-foot oceanfront home, shown in 2006; Trump renovated the property after buying it for about $41 million in 2004.
