NFL scouts could have a difficult time evaluating USC cornerback Josh Shaw.
Shaw practiced Wednesday for the first time since his August suspension for fabricating a story about how he suffered ankle injuries. He missed 10 games.
But with at least three games remaining in his college career, NFL analyst Bucky Brooks wrote there was time for Shaw to redeem himself before the April 30 draft.
To repair his draft status, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound Shaw must make amends with the USC football family, shoot straight with NFL coaches and scouts, and “ball out” when he returns to the field, Brooks wrote.
“I’m glad he is back,” defensive lineman Leonard Williams said. “He apologized to me earlier in the season and we are just glad to have him.”
Coach Steve Sarkisian said he had not determined when Shaw would play.
Brooks graded Shaw as a third- to-fifth-round pick before the season.
